Roxy Manning’s Biography
Roxy began her career in acting, having performed in several films, TV shows, and commercials. As a connoisseur of televised/online entertainment news and pop culture, she then made the switch into hosting by interviewing celebrities on the Red Carpet. She would do this at some of the most high-profile entertainment events in the country such as the Sundance Film Festival, The Genesis Awards (The Humane Society of the United States), the Tribeca Film Festival and New York Fashion Week. She is one of those people that are where everyone else wants to be-whether it is at the hottest party in town, backstage at a fabulous awards show, or on the Red Carpet of the latest blockbuster movie premiere. She describes some of these sensational and thrilling experiences on her blog, www.RedCarpetRoxy.com.
Most people would find the joy of interviewing such A List celebrities as Russell Simmons, Kanye West, Jessica Biel, Jaime Pressly, Mel B, and Carmen Electra daunting and unnerving. Not Roxy. Her unique brand of talking, listening, and relate ability creates an instant connection and puts her Tinsel town subjects at ease so that they let their guard down. They are truly drawn to her. Her wicked smile, bubbly nature, and infectious energy engage the interviewees and they can’t help but have a smile on their faces when they talk to her. Her original and distinguished voice makes an indelible impression for hosting and voice-overs. She has worked as the voice-over talent for such clients as IMG, Sunsilk, DHL, and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
She also holds her own against the best of them in the worlds of fashion and sports. After covering several New York Fashion Weeks, Dallas Fashion Week events, and various fashion shows the girl knows clothes! She had the pleasure of interviewing Malan Breton, Angela Kessler, Jack Mackenroth, Kevin Christiano, and Daniel Franco of Bravo’s “Project Runway.” Also, Roxy has spoken on camera to other talented designers and fashionistas such as Russell Simmons, Loris Diran, B. Michael, Farah Angsana, Alexis Pfeiffer (Ghita), Jason Scarlatti (2ixst), and celebrity stylists. In addition, her sports interviewees include Olympic Gold Medalists Amanda Beard and Michael Johnson, world renowned basketball players Magic Johnson, Patrick Ewing, and Jerry Stackhouse, and future Pro Football Hall of Famers Emmitt Smith and Terrell Owens.
Roxy also completed a Bachelor of Arts degree from the prestigious Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California. Her further studies with the Ivana Chubbuck Studio, Kalmenson & Kalmenson, and Marki Costello’s Hosting Bootcamp in Los Angeles, KD Studios and Talent Dynamics in Dallas, and the Barrow Group and Michael Howard Studios both in New York City, effectively prepared her for her chosen destiny on camera.
As for her other passions, she is truly an animal lover and would do almost anything for a four-legged furry friend. Not only does she have 2 rescued dogs of her own, but she has found and saved countless strays. She continues to work with animal rescue groups and charities both in New York and Los Angeles. And, if there is any time left in the day, Roxy always enjoys travelling, watching movies, and catching live music or sporting events.
She is a shining star in the entertainment business with universal appeal. Her offbeat, quirky sense of humor and likeability along with her genuineness and quick wit captivates audiences and makes them want more “Red Carpet Roxy!”
